Standing Form features a square cutout set within a larger rectangular wooden structure painted in white, with a translucent orange resin center that acts as the focal point. I hand-sanded the wood and built a custom mold to hold the resin, then refined both the front and back surfaces until they were smooth and seamless. On its own, the piece has a quiet interplay of color and form, but when light is added around or behind it, the orange center glows from within and transforms the sculpture into something more atmospheric. The work balances precision, material contrast, and a sense of calm presence, inviting viewers to notice how light, color, and negative space shift together.
