ABOUT

Lisa Li (b. 1983) is a Filipino-American artist working across sculpture, drawing, and installation. She is drawn to destruction and its aftermath, geological formations, architecture, material transformation, and moments when familiar things behave in unexpected ways. Her work studies how shifts in scale, material, position, and context can alter our understanding of an object or place, asking us to look again at things we might otherwise take for granted.

Formally trained in interior design and immersed in architecture from an early age through her family, Li spent a decade working across photography, design consultation, and film production before returning to a sustained studio practice. Her work has been recognized nationally as a Metropolis Future 100 honoree and exhibited internationally in Time Space Existence at the Venice Architecture Biennale collateral program. Her work exists at multiple scales, from site-specific, permanent installation to smaller sculptural pieces.
